The former «International Documentary Film Festival» directed by Erika de Hadeln, followed by the festival «Visions du Réel» relaunched by Jean Perret 20 years ago, the festival is celebrating in 2014 under his actual director Luciano Barisone its 45th anniversary. All kinds of love in the 2014 programme: in comedies, melodramas and poetries. The number of selected films hit a record: 170 films from 51 countries, most of them world or international premières! Three cinema lessons, by Pierre-Yves Vandeweerd, Ross McElwee and Richard Dindo will be open to the public, as well as a Focus on Tunisia. New this year: the section Grand Angle presents the best of other major international festivals' selection.
An interreligious jury appointed by SIGNIS and INTERFILM will be present at the festival to award one oft he 19 films from the international competition for long documentary film. The award carries a prize money of 5000 CHF, donated by the Swiss Catholic Church and Médias-pro, the Média Departement of Reformed Churches in the French speaking part Switzerland (CER). Members of the jury are: Jean-Jacques Cunnac (France), Amira Hafner-Al Jabaji (Switzerland), Serge Molla (Switzerland) and Brigitta Rotach (Switzerland).
